Registration Times
1. Items may be registered in person on Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm or Monday, August 22, 2011 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm).
2. Arts and Crafts Entry Arrival Time – Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Monday, August 22, 2011 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
3. Culinary Arts Entry Arrival Time* – Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Judging will be held at 8:00 pm.
*Canned goods may also be turned in along with Arts and Crafts entries.
General Rules and Regulations:
1. The chairman reserves the right to accept or reject entries.
2. Awards will be given in accordance with the merits of the articles exhibited.
3. All exhibits must be the work of the exhibitor and completed within the last fair year (August 2010–August 2011).
4. An exhibitor cannot enter more than one article under any one class number in any department.
5. No entry fees will be charged.
6. Articles that are too large for display will not be accepted.
7. Exhibitors are required to pick up their articles between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2011.
8. No articles will be released except on presentation of duplicate entry ticket. Any exhibit not picked up by 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2011 will be held at the Horseshoe office for five days, after which it will be disposed of.
9. No articled entered for exhibit in any department may be removed prior to 10:00 am on Sunday, August 28, 2011, unless with written permission.
10. The Midland County Fair and its representatives are not responsible for any breakage or damage of entries.
11. All entries not free-standing must be equipped to hang or be accompanied by an easel.
12. Age groups for all categories are as follows:
· Division 1 – Children ages 5 and under
· Division 2 – Youth ages 6-12
· Division 3 – Teens ages 13-18
· Division 4 – Adult hobbyists*
· Division 5 – Adult professionals*
* No person who sells, teaches, or owns a shop related to the craft may enter as a hobbyist.

Culinary Arts Special Rules:
1. All entries are subject to general rules and regulations.
2. Items must be turned in on disposable plates or cardboard and covered with a disposable cover.
3. All canned goods must be exhibited in regulation canning jars. No paraffin and no jar embellishments. All jars must be sealed. Fruits and vegetables will not be opened for judging.
4. No cream pies.
5. No cake mixes or store-bought icing allowed.
